Questions

Frequently asked.

Is the race really free?

Yes. Orvis is the title sponsor of the inaugural Vermont Road Race and is covering entry for every runner in the founding field. No fee, no fine print.

Why Manchester, Vermont?

Manchester has been home to Orvis since 1856, and it's one of the most beautiful places in New England to run. The race is our way of celebrating the town, the Green Mountains, and the sporting tradition that's lived here for generations.

Where does the race start and finish?

The race starts at Burr & Burton Academy, winds through historic downtown Manchester, and finishes at the Orvis Flagship store. Bib pickup opens at 7:30 AM at the start line.

Can I run with friends?

Of course — each runner needs to register individually so we can plan shirts, aid stations, and finish-line logistics for the right headcount.

What's included with registration?

A bib, finish-line refreshments, a post-race gathering in town, and a Vermont Road Race t-shirt for every registered runner — all courtesy of Orvis.

What if I can't make it?

Email us at vtroadrace@gmail.com as soon as you know — we'll open your spot up to the next runner who wants in.
